What this policy covers
LocalLeadsIO ("we," "us," "our") operates localleadsio.com and delivers commercial permit digest emails to contractors across North Carolina and South Carolina. This policy describes what personal information we collect from site visitors, subscribers, and businesses we contact via outreach, how we use that information, and the rights you have regarding it.
This service is intended for use by US-based businesses only. We do not knowingly market to or collect personal data from individuals outside the United States.
From subscribers
When you create a LocalLeadsIO subscription, we collect:
- Name and email address
- Selected city, subscription plan, and trade preferences
- Payment information — collected and stored exclusively by Stripe; LocalLeadsIO never sees, stores, or handles your card number
- Subscription metadata: signup date, plan type, billing status, and last email delivery date
From cold outreach recipients
LocalLeadsIO may contact contractors using business contact information that is publicly available through the North Carolina State Licensing Board and other public government sources. This includes business names, contact names, and business email addresses. We do not purchase contact lists from data brokers or third-party list vendors.
If you receive a cold outreach email from us and have not subscribed, the only information we hold about you is what was publicly available at the time of contact. You may opt out at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any outreach email or by replying with "unsubscribe" in the subject line. Upon opt-out, your email is moved to a suppression list and you will not be contacted again.
Automatically collected information
Our email delivery provider, SendGrid, captures standard delivery metrics including open events, click events, bounce status, and unsubscribe actions, to monitor deliverability. We do not use this data to build behavioral profiles.
Our signup page loads Stripe.js for payment processing. Stripe may set functional cookies required for secure checkout. Netlify, which hosts our pages, may collect standard server logs including IP addresses and browser user-agent strings for security and uptime purposes. We do not run advertising trackers, retargeting pixels, or third-party analytics on any LocalLeadsIO pages.
Subscriber data is used only to
- Configure and deliver your permit digest emails on your selected schedule
- Process, manage, and renew your subscription through Stripe
- Respond to support requests or questions you initiate
- Notify you of material changes to the service or these policies
Outreach contact data is used only to
Send a maximum of three outreach emails over seven days. If you do not respond or subscribe, no further contact is made and the record is archived. Outreach contact data is never merged with subscriber records unless you choose to subscribe.
Our commercial email practices
All commercial emails sent by LocalLeadsIO including permit digest emails and cold outreach comply with the federal CAN-SPAM Act. Every outreach email includes:
- Clear identification of LocalLeadsIO as the sender
- An honest, non-deceptive subject line
- A functioning one-click unsubscribe mechanism

Unsubscribe requests are honored within 10 business days. To opt out of all LocalLeadsIO outreach at any time, click the unsubscribe link in any email or contact permits@localleadsio.com.
Who processes data on our behalf
We work with the following providers to operate the service. Each processes data only to the extent necessary to fulfill their function:
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing. Privacy Policy
- SendGrid (Twilio) — email delivery and inbound reply handling. Privacy Policy
- Railway — backend server infrastructure. Privacy Policy
- Netlify — static page hosting. Privacy Policy
We do not authorize any of these providers to use your personal information for their own marketing or advertising purposes.
Public records in your digest
Commercial permit data in your digests is retrieved from publicly accessible municipal and government sources. This data is a matter of public record and is reproduced solely to deliver the monitoring service you subscribed to.
Where a public permit record contains an individual's name as a permit applicant or project contact, that name appears in the public record and is delivered as part of the permit information. LocalLeadsIO does not supplement, enrich, or analyze permit records beyond what the source system provides.
What cookies we use and why
LocalLeadsIO does not set first-party advertising or tracking cookies. Two types of third-party cookies may be set when using our site:
- Stripe.js cookies — set during checkout to enable fraud detection and secure payment sessions. These are strictly functional and required for the payment flow to work.
- Netlify operational cookies — short-lived session identifiers used for load balancing and security on hosted pages. These do not track you across other sites.
No cookies are set by simply reading this page or the main informational content of localleadsio.com outside the checkout flow.
How long we keep your data
Active subscriber records are retained for the life of your subscription. After cancellation, we retain billing records and account metadata for up to 90 days to support reconciliation and dispute resolution, after which personal information is deleted from our systems.
Email delivery event logs held by SendGrid are subject to SendGrid's own data retention policy, which is outside our control.
Opt-out suppression records containing only an email address and opt-out date are retained indefinitely to prevent re-contact. This is required for CAN-SPAM compliance and is in your interest.
This service is not for minors
LocalLeadsIO is a B2B service directed exclusively at business professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If we discover we have inadvertently received such information, we will delete it promptly. Contact permits@localleadsio.com if you believe this has occurred.
Requests you can make at any time
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction — request that inaccurate information be corrected
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated personal data
- Opt-out — opt out of outreach emails at any time, no subscription required
- Portability — request your subscription preferences in a machine-readable format
Submit requests to permits@localleadsio.com. We respond within 5 business days.
If LocalLeadsIO is acquired or sold
If LocalLeadsIO undergoes a merger, acquisition, asset sale, or similar transaction, subscriber information held by LocalLeadsIO may be transferred to the acquiring entity as part of that transaction. In the event of such a transfer, we will use commercially reasonable efforts to contractually require the acquiring entity to honor the privacy commitments described in this policy. If a material change in how your data is handled would result from the transaction, we will notify active subscribers by email prior to that change taking effect and provide an opportunity to cancel your subscription at no penalty.
How updates are handled
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. For material changes, active subscribers will be notified by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
